In search of AWS Security Specialist?

An AWS Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the secure design, deployment, and operation of applications and infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS). They play a crucial role in protecting an organization's data and systems in the cloud.

Anicalls ensures security standards and best practices are met within AWS deployments. This role involves understanding AWS-specific security tools like AWS Shield, AWS WAF, and AWS Key Management Service.

Roles & Responsibilities

Access Control & Identity Management

Utilize AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) to set up user roles, permissions, and policies. Manage multi-factor authentication and integrate identity solutions if necessary.

Security Monitoring & Alerting

Implement and manage AWS security services such as AWS CloudTrail, Amazon GuardDuty, and AWS Security Hub to detect suspicious activities.

Data Protection

Implement encryption strategies using tools like AWS Key Management Service (KMS) for data at rest and in transit.

Network Protection

Configure and manage Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Network Access Control Lists (NACLs), and security groups. Implement AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF) and AWS Shield for additional protection.

Incident Response

Respond to security breaches, vulnerabilities, or potential threats. Collaborate with the operations team for remediation and recovery.

Compliance & Auditing

Ensure all AWS resources comply with industry regulations and standards. Use AWS Config and other tools to continuously monitor and record compliant and non-compliant resources.

Security Assessments

Regularly conduct security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests on AWS environments.

Security Best Practices

Stay updated with AWS's well-architected framework, especially the security pillar, and ensure its best practices are implemented across the organization.

Educate & Advocate

Train development and operations teams on security best practices, and advocate for security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
